I did this once and had to get a new disposal, might have broke it by putting too much ice. Frown

Pour a half cup of baking soda in the disposal.
Grab the drain plug.
Pour a half cup of distilled white vinegar down the drain.
Place plug quickly and hold it in place.

This will clean your disposer AND drain with the chemical reaction.

I also tried this once and it damaged my disposal (luckily didn't have to replace)

I have never heard of that happening, been doing the ice and dish soap clean for over 25 years and NEVER had a problem.
All my friends do it also and never had a problem

Ice helps clean and keep the blades sharp, lemon/dish soap clean and deodorize the drain/blades.
