I just bought 5 pounds on Amazon a couple weeks ago for $10.90, this doesn't seem like that great of a deal. I miss the Costco deal about 5 years ago, 12 pound box for $19.99. I have two of those in the garage right now.

If you have the room get the 12lb. Much better cost / lb.

MG doesn't have calcium.
So you need to supplement if you're growing certain plants that need a lot of it.
I'd use Jacks or add Yara cal nitrate
Cal Nitrate

Home Depot currently has the 4.25 lb for $12.37 ($2.91/lb) and my local True Value Hardware store has the 3lb for $5.49. I miss the Amazon 10 pound box for $12.54 deal from December 2021, almost 5 years later and I haven't even used 1 of the 2 boxes I purchased back then.

Wow, hadn't seen it for $5.49 at True Value, that's an excellent price! I changed the post to reflect that price, along with the link to Amazon. $9.50 is still a good price at Amazon, but the True Value price is awesome. Thanks!

Not just MG All-purpose fertilizer but most multi-purpose water soluble fertilizers don't have calcium because of the interactions of the main nutrients especially phosphorus. There are MG products (MG makes lots of fertilizer variations) that do have calcium in the formulations though if needed.

Seems like a good deal. I have had some I forgot about for a couple years. Does it lose any thing if it is still sealed?
