Is this basically WD-30?
Two overlapping use cases. You probably should have both around the house.

WD-40 is primarily a solvent and cleaner designed to displace water and loosen stuck parts. Silicone is a true, long-lasting lubricant that repels water, resists extreme temperatures, and won't degrade rubber or plastic.

It's Silicone based, so yes.

You can look for one specifically made for garage door, and see it's the same.

But like I said, it may not come with a straw and that makes application diffcult.
I have never seen CRC sell silicone or just about anything else without a straw. Maybe that`s why it`s on sale.

The straws used for these lubes seem to come in only two, or maybe three, diameters and can be swapped between spray nozzles. If you find one that fits, cut a piece off of one that you already have, if you need one. Keep the straws from the cans that are empty, too. I usually have a few of these stored away as a spares .

Beware! I got three cans of this on last deal, it might have been putting wrong formula or something. It does not come out grease at all, comes out very clear liquid like brake part cleaner fluid. I sprayed it on a cardboard and it does not leave any greasy stuff at all. Just dry out quickly like cleaner fluid.

The second photo in Amazon link shows a red straw. I assume it will come with a straw.

WARNING: This is NOT safe to use on plastics.

While you are correct that silicone is safe for plastics, the additives in this can are not! This will damage plastics. The back of the can also states, "NOT FOR USE ON PLASTICS". I think it has some petroleum in it if I remember correctly.

For those saying this is the normal price at Walmart, it is not. These generally go for around $5.97 a can, the $2.97 price is not normal and seems to be some sort of clearance, even SuperTech silicone spray is $4.97 a can.

So this is a great deal, ordered a case!
$2.97 at my local Walmart right now, at least online. Usually, if Amazon has something like this at a cheap price, Walmart will have it for the same price. In store, it might be higher. SuperTech silicone lubricant is $5.98 for a 12oz can.

That is correct. Silicone is typically dry lubricant. The additives will dry quickly, but you shouldn't be left with a wet, oily, or greasy film. It's not like your standard DW-40 in that regard.

Legendary reputation and a great product. My father had this in the garage always along with Tri-flow and GIBBS . Once you try Gibbs, you will never go back to anything else btw.

For people received this, please confirmed if it comes with a taped to the can red straw or not.

I hope mine with no straw and no tape mark is just bad luck, but if they stop include straws, that's a bad sign.
