Also, with the consumer protection agencies being gutted in the US, you can't really be sure any product is safe to take anymore.

There are no known safe levels of lead for humans.
I wouldn't take this product if I was paid. I suggest using flax or chia. Each have different benefits and uses with lots of overlap.

I still have to do a lot of research but so far I've found that overall that psyllium husk is the worst offender.
With whole seeds I can buy organic from a reputable company or supplier with less fear.
