I remember people hating on COH2 at release, but I think I put more time into it than the first overall. It's still a great game with a great campaign, and the multiplayer community is still active, if that's your thing.
I own all the major DLCs and beat all of them on hard difficulty, (Excruciatingly hard and requiring cheese, in some cases) and the "extra missions" packs (Case Blue, Southern Fronts, Victory at Stalingrad) are mediocre.
The main COH2 campaign is great, as is Ardennes Assault. So stick to those 2 if you want to only get the best stuff. If you want to play multiplayer, skirmish or comp stomp, the US Forces and OKW expansions are also good. Those come bundled for $4.99 as a Western Front Armies Bundle. I also love the British Forces expansion, but again, it's multiplayer / skirmish only.
