If we're going to adjust for inflation, we should compare the cost of the SNES with building a game from the ground up.

Remakes have significantly cheaper pre-production costs since the IP, characters, script, world etc, is already built. You already have art and audio references, too.

I see kids complaining about the cost of games at $60-80. For me, I see games that have stayed the same price for 35 years. They don't know how good they got it!
