Yes to this, also fk Niimbot. But, there's one hack that hasn't been patched yet that allows you to use any label with B1.

It goes without saying that Niimbot can patch it anytime.
PSA: labels are cheaper on AliExpress
PSA2: Phomemo M110 printer labels are compatible with this printer too(using above hack)Phomemo have holographic labels which Niimbot don't for this model

That one is showing up for $15.59 for me if you click "Up to 50% off if you qualify Shop items." The shows up as 40% off. Clipping the $6 off coupon doesn't seem to help if you go this route. Might be targeted?

I don't know why the title says it's 230 labels, which is not the case in Amazon title. Mine came 90ish starter labels and when I reach out to the seller they said that is supposed to come with starter labels.

As far as I know labels have unique ids and they have a counter for the every roll. So If you use the hack, you may not use OEM roll.

True, but the counter is updated in roll itself, because you don't keep your roll touching the whole time so it does not updates the counter for that roll
