Note that the 9.26" version has front and rear dashcam functionality, and it's cheaper at only $65 rn. I'd take that over Netflix any day.

Super easy. No adapter needed. All it takes is power from a power plug and a connection to aux in.
The audio is (sadly) much better out of the Bluetooth than the aux cable. My Ram 1500 doesn't have anything fancy, I use a Tunai Firefly (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HDO66NK) Bluetooth to audio aux which I already owned. I thought this would be great plugged straight into the Aux but the sound was very muddy compared to the Bluetooth.
Once again, it may not be the same manufacturer or it may be. They look awfully similar!
My short review, other than that audio hijinks is that it works great. It will occasionally disconnect from Android Auto and reconnect. Once every 3 drives. It does it pretty quickly. The screen does not go to auto dark mode or at least I haven't figured that out. And it is barely bright enough on a full sunny day. But it is bright enough. Overall, for $75 bucks, it was worth it to me.
Dashcam so important in case you get in an accident and there's a dispute. I was in an accident while backing out--the other driver backed into me, basically T-boning my car
while he was backing out also. He could have stopped if he had been looking--there was nothing I could do about it. Blame was assessed at 50-50 by insurance companies, w/o any additional information or video. Wish I had a dashcam then.

By the time I got to test my unit I was past the return window. I bought it Black Friday but didn't get to fully test it until this year. Had I tested it earlier I might have returned it. It's not good that you have to use another product's update to fix it. I couldn't find any updates online, or any support at all, for any Volam devices. If Android 17 breaks something, I could be screwed again. However, this is what you can expect from these no-name Chinese devices. You get a lot for your money but you don't get support. Similar units from more reputable brands are double or triple the price.
It's not tacky and it doesn'tneed to be ON your dash. I use a cd slot adapter and it looks fine.
Since this is for older cars the people who buy this don't car as much about looks and more about functionality. This does the trick quite well.
I have a newer car w build in AA and added a unit like this to my older truck. I think it works quite well. Same functionality as pretty much.

If you use aux in, it will use the built in microphone for calls, which is not good. at higher speed (noise)
