This looks like a good deal, according to the price tracker.

That was the R4850, this is the R4331. I own both. This one is superior. While it has a slightly lower cuts per minute (cpm,) it has a chip extractor (fan) that works quite well. Replacement blades are also inexpensive and widely availableI purchased this refurbished from DTO for around $200. This is a good price for a new unit with a lifetime warranty.
Both plane fine, just remember to take off a very tiny about each pass. Rarely do I take off more than 1/64" per pass with hardwood. You get a much better surface taking your time.

I bought this a couple weeks ago from Direct Tools Factory Outlet for $258. For the price it's adequate, but does have a couple issues:

The thin steel infeed and outfeed plates are not flat. Warped in all directions. After spending an hour trying to get them level with the cutting surface I finally gave up and settled for "close enough".

The bolts used to adjust the infeed/outfeed surfaces are much, much too short with only a couple threads biting the soft aluminum base. It doesn't take much force on the lock nuts to strip out those two threads. I really wish I had realized how short they are before damaging the threaded hole. If you do buy this planer, I highly recommend checking the length of those four bolts, and if they don't reach the bottom of the threaded holes, replace them before trying to fuss with adjustments.
