Seems like getting 2x 12 month personal 365 (good for 18 months of 365 Family) + 2 years of Nord for $100 is a better deal than 1x 12 month 365 Family and 1 year of Nord for $90.
This bundle is mainly attractive for extending Microsoft 365 and NordVPN through stacking, especially if you already have a Family plan. The Personal key can redeem into Family as about 9 months, and multiple Personal codes or Nord codes can stack, with some accounts reaching years of extra coverage. The redemption flow can be finicky, sometimes requiring the keep Family option, and Microsoft caps home subscriptions at 5 years. Nord Basic may not extend older higher tier Nord plans, and the offer is limited per customer.
Microsoft 365 Family subscribers who want to extend coverage cheaply, because Personal keys can convert into about nine months of Family and stack cleanly.
People starting fresh with Microsoft 365 and NordVPN, because the bundle can be stacked across separate purchases to build long coverage with no issues.
NordVPN users on an older higher-tier plan, because Basic keys may not stack onto a different Nord plan and can leave the expiry date unchanged on the website.
Microsoft 365 Premium subscribers who expect Personal codes to extend their existing plan, because the redemption flow may not offer a keep-existing-plan option.
Redeeming a Personal key on an active Family account can trigger a switch prompt that lets you keep Family instead of converting to Personal. When you choose keep Family, the Personal code adds about 9 months to the Family subscription, and Microsoft may also offer a free extra month if you turn on recurring billing.
Yes. Multiple Personal codes can be stacked and converted into Family time, and multiple Family codes can also be redeemed to extend the account. Microsoft does cap home subscriptions at 5 years, so stacking too many codes can eventually fail.
The NordVPN Basic code can stack, but it may not extend a different or higher-tier Nord plan. The app is the better place to verify the updated expiry date if the website date looks wrong.
The deal is limited to one per customer on some listings, and later comments show the limit changing to two per customer for the Personal + Nord combo. Attempts to buy extra copies can be canceled, so multiple orders may require separate accounts or may not work at all.
They may fail if the Family subscription is expiring very soon. In that case, the workaround is to let Family expire, redeem the Personal code, then switch back to Family afterward.

Interesting...are you saying if you try to add a M365 Personal key to an account that has Family, that MS gives you 9 months of Family instead? And Nord keys are stackable, so that is a good way to work the deal.
Yes in their redeeming process it ask you if you want to stay in Family or go with personal
Yes it was very specific for me saying "we see you are on family and you are trying to redeem personal, do you want to keep family or switch."
I ofc chose keep family.
When you enter office personal it will take you to subscribe to get a free month, I had to skip this because was giving me an error but after that it ask you if you want to keep family or personal, continue or select family and it will give you 9 months
I'm seeing only Limit of 1 per customer, on that combo (the 12 month personal 365 + a year of Nord for $50). Were you able to get two?
I did, they flagged your card and address, so I put Space A in address at second account, and bought a newegg gift card to be send to second account and boom If any of you not using your nord vpn code, please dm me will be a nice thank for the confirmed workaround. 🙏
Well, I got the same line - sorry, no help. I actually suspect it is because my subscription is expiring in a week or less. They actually suggested I WAIT for the Family Sub to Expire, Redeem the Personal Sub, then upgrade to the Family Sub after which should restore me back to my current setup.
So, a warning if your subscription is expiring soon (IE: you've started receiving emails saying it's about to expire)... you might not be able to redeem it.
Try it from login.live.com or account.live.com, then go to Manage Microsoft 365 Family, then Manage subscription...
Let us know if that works?
Data point: I'm on Microsoft 365 Premium, not regular Family. My Premium subscription is already extended far into the future.
I tried redeeming this Microsoft 365 Personal code at office.com/setup, expecting it might prorate/extend my Premium plan, but I did not get the "keep existing plan" option that others on Family are seeing. The redemption page only showed Microsoft 365 Personal valid until May 25, 2027, which looked like it would create/activate a separate Personal subscription, not extend Premium.
I contacted Microsoft support. Agent gave mixed/confusing answers and could not confirm the behavior during the chat. They agreed that normally there should be an option to keep/add to the existing Premium plan before confirming redemption, but I was not seeing that. They have opened/escalated a case to a higher-level/backend team, so I'm leaving the code unused for now.
I'll update if Microsoft confirms whether Personal codes can be prorated into Premium. For now, warning to anyone on Microsoft 365 Premium: don't click through unless the redemption page clearly shows it will extend Premium.
Their support was worthless when I tried it a while back for the same issue. The basically said it wasn't compatible with the version I had now, which was premium. Back then it would just error out with some crazy error code, then like a month ago when there was another office deal I tried again and it would actually give me more of a legit error that I can't use the code until my current subscription ends. Now it is back to a generic error to try again later after step 4. Honestly I don't think I've gained anything using premium so I'll just let it run out in a few more years that I still have stacked I guess and go back to just regular family at that point.
What sucks is on the website it says my subscription renews 2028 but on the Nord app it says it renews 2032 which is the correct date.
ah, yes, this is happening to me, too! thank you. I didn't even consider looking in the app.
App show my 2030 date after putting in the code last night from this deal but the website account still has 2029. I'll see what they say about this when they respond to my ticket.

Either one of those paths ends up kicking you to account.microsoft.com then it kicks you over to setup.office.com when you click "Redeem Key"
Here are the 4 steps I see when I attempt to redeem a key on setup.office.com:
Enter Your Product Key (being added to appropriate account email)
Confirm your product key: Microsoft 365 Personal (key I entered below it) country or region: US
Do you want to turn on recurring billing? Yes? +3mos using existing CC on file, No, sub will expire in 12 mos (after family sub ends). Both options go to the step below (4)
(exclamation marks at the top) Hang on to your product code... You've chose to switch to Microsoft 365 Personal. You'll need to wait: You currently have Microsoft 365 Family, but the product key you entered is for Microsoft 365 Personal. You'll need to wait for your current subscription to end before you can switch to M365 Personal. Please hang onto your product key and turn off recurring billing on your Microsoft account dashboard (it is currently off), then wait until your current subscription ends on May 31, 2026.
I wonder on which step do others see the option to redeem it as "Family" instead?

I never knew that 12 months of personal converted to 9 months of family. $49/9 is definitely better than $89/12
Anyone else getting an error from Microsoft "Please come back later to redeem your product key. Error Code: UncaughtClientError Time Stamp..."? EDIT: I was able to back up and not select the additional month for recurring billing. After making that change, the product key activated.

Perhaps this will help someone with with concerns when buying 12 months Personal while currently subscribed to Family.
My experience:
1. Start on the manage subscriptions screen of my Microsoft account.
2. Clicking 'Redeem a code or prepaid card' opens new tab/window where you click a 'Get Started' button.
3. Paste the key into the Step 1 Enter Your Product Key page and click next.
4. Step 2 Redeem Your Product Key pages shows the key is for a Personal subscription - there is nothing about Family, but click redeem button anyway
5. Only on this page the question for 'Do you want to switch subscriptions' is asked - it explains currently have Family but key is Personal - there is option to keep Family and a note at the bottom that new expiration is 9 months after current expiration.
6. Click next and when I go back to my Family subscription I see new expiration is 9 months later than it used to be.

Thanks for the info! QQ: how much longer is your subscription active and do you have recurring billing on?
