It almost breaks my heart that a game this good is selling so cheap. My wife and I are big fans of the first printing. This version comes with some improvements / additional gameplay and lateral changes in art and production.

I want to say something that's going to rile some feathers, and there's probably nothing wrong with this board game, But why do most games have to go into idol-istic spirits, idolistic gods, and idolistic deviations. Nobody is going to take the element of the spirituality seriously when playing such a game, but it just intrigues me that the human nature pulls us towards using that as a theme for a game.
Unlike games like Monopoly, making all your friends broke, greed, Sorry and Trouble, knocking your friends aside to get home first, wrath, or Hungry Hungry Hippos, eating beyond ones fill, gluttony. Feathers should be riled, I guess.

Certainly seem riled. If you're not living under any commands not to have Idols then it really wouldn't affect you I assume. But for those of us who would like to avoid Association of idols, those are the ones who might actually care.

More than a little weird that you went with "most games" based on... I have no idea where you pulled it from.

Looking across the room I see games about bird watching, dragons and math, sinking a naval fleet, fitting pieces together, feeding hippos, escaping from a laboratory, and smuggling. I do have two here with exploration themes and there are little statues to collect. But one of them has the idols sent to a museum, the other uses the little statues to build a vehicle. Neither involves worship.

I'm sure there are all sorts of spiritual themes out there, especially if you stretch the definition a lot. But most?

I'm not riled at all, just pointing out hypocrisy. Which games can you play if the idea of an idol wards you off?

It's just culturally implicit that we use worshiped past "gods" and Supernatural beliefs as fiction fuel i guess.

And it is a fair point that there's a lot of games I guess that I am not accounting for that don't use them.

Of all these games that you mentioned, I don't like playing any of those. Do you? I feel like there's not enough skill involved in most of them. And Monopoly is just a deadlock that takes forever to break most the time if you have two skilled players.
