careful of the shiny controllers, when you hands sweat they get very slippery. Had this issue with the ones like Chroma Pearl.

$170 right now for edge, and $200 regular price. You can have three of the regular ones, and still have $5 left over.

Stick drift is easy to fix with a contact cleaner. They just get dirty from use. No need to spend $70.

Sony's DualSense wireless controller is the standard PS5 pad, and the comments focus on its price and long term stick wear. The recurring discount makes it easy to pick up extras, and the same price appears at ShopMyExchange with possible tax savings. Shiny finishes can feel slippery when hands sweat. Stick drift is the main concern, though cleaning with contact cleaner may help if the issue is dirt rather than failing hardware, and Sony's two year replacement coverage may reduce the need for extra protection.

  • Cleaning the controller contacts can fix stick drift when dirty potentiometers cause the problem.

  • Replacing DualSense joysticks with hall effect or TMR sticks can reduce future drift issues.

  • Buying multiple controllers during recurring discounts can spread risk across replacements and repairs.

  • Sony can honor controller replacements or fixes for two years from the purchase date without extra protection.

  • DualSense controllers can develop stick drift over time and may require costly repairs.

  • Contact cleaner may not resolve issues when hardware is failing instead of just being dirty.

  • DualSense Edge can cost substantially more than regular DualSense controllers.

These will eventually get stick drift and cause you another $70 to fix it. Better to get the one with better joysticks
Which one would that be? As far as I know, this is the only gamepad for PS5.

I believe all of the regular Dualsense will eventually have stick drift. The Edge version you can change the stick but it's more expensive

Sometimes contact cleaner works, but not always. Just depends on what the actual issue is. If the hardware is failing contact cleaner won't work

I generally wait for this price and then buy 2. Thanks for letting us know it was discounted. I only got one because I hadnt opened the 2nd one from when I bought them last Black Friday.
Also, no need to get the extra protection, cus sony will honor all replacements/fixes for 2 years from purchase date without the additional coverage they offer when bought.

Good deal. Shopmyexchange has them for the same price if you have access and it would be tax-free.
