These are really nice. However, the battery is not replaceable. Mine lasted a few years, now the battery is dead and apparently I am out of luck.

Yeah same here.one of the two probes no longer charges at all. Only 2 years old MAYBE.....shame.

My probe died a few years ago, and I replaced it with another probe, but my main base unit died as well. So the only way to replace that is with a whole new unit.
