Depends on your area, but it's not quite.

2 movie tickets in NY - $50
1 regular popcorn - $10.50
2 regular drinks - $16

Total = $76.50 for a worst-case scenario (includes $5 in fees that you could get waived with a $15/year membership, plus $4 blockbuster tax)

LA is a little cheaper. And in NJ that same package is more like $56-61 (including taxes and fees) depending on the movie. Of course, matinées or discount days can drop it to as low as $38 before fees.

So I'd say $27 here is a pretty great deal (PA)

These can usually be had for $18-22 depending the code. Within last 30 days i scored using a code from past posts. Just search amc on here.

Can you provide a link? All I'm seeing is 2x tickets and popcorn (no drinks) for $24. Especially interested in the $18 code if it still works (none I've tried have worked). Thanks

Theaters have also long been part of the problem for overcharging for everything. Sony Picture's CEO Tom Rothman called them out on it earlier this year.
