Community Reviews

The Legion Go S with the Z1 Extreme stands out as a comfortable handheld with a strong 32 GB memory configuration, a good non OLED screen, and solid performance for Steam games and Windows launchers. Dual booting SteamOS and Windows works well, and the extra RAM helps it run demanding titles smoothly. Battery life is the main weakness, landing around 2 to 3 hours depending on the game, and the trackpad is poor for mouse navigation. Open box units have also been described as arriving in mint condition, making it a capable but battery limited handheld.

  • The device can run SteamOS and Windows via dual-boot, which keeps Steam games smooth while enabling Battle.net, Epic, and Game Pass access.

  • The 32GB RAM configuration can improve performance versus 16GB handheld models while still running the games with decent frame rates.

  • The open-box condition can arrive essentially brand new, making the purchase feel like a near-new unit for some buyers.

  • The Z1 Extreme model is reported to deliver strong performance after OS optimization and can still be working perfectly later.

  • Battery life is reported to be weak, with typical playtime around two to three hours depending on the game.

  • The trackpad is reported to be unusable for mouse navigation, which limits productivity or pointer-based gameplay.

  • The open-box deal price is criticized as poor value compared with alternatives like Ally Z1e or Steam Deck OLED at similar money.

  • Open-box purchases may require checking whether the unit is already registered before buying, which adds a potential hassle.

I miss the days when you could expect these to be under $500 open box. I know never this model but still. Hard for me to justify more than $500 on a handheld no matter the specs. I assume many are using these with monitors and a keyboard and mouse as their primary system.

Considering getting the Legion go 2 open box, and saving $160, and just replacing the controllers and battery after some abuse.
Anyways, make sure to get the 3 year warranty. Lenovo is cheaper than BB's. But getting it with an open box, you need to make sure its not registered prior..I think?

It wasn't that long ago I got incredibly downvoted for recommending 1tb legion go OG version refurbished for $460 with two years warranty...
Yeah. Because that's a bad deal. For that price, either Ally z1e or SD OLED are better options. Brand new too.

Yeah open box for $800? $1500 retail? Nothing about this is slick at all. Just gotta pack it up and wait for the storm to pass.

800 dollars for open box in fair condition? Insane. The best way to respond to these price hikes is to let them rot on shelves. I'm glad I got my Legion Go 2 Z2 Extreme for the original launch price. Thank you for posting the deal though.

Wouldn't even buy it at $299. You will still be alive without video games, but you will definitely die without money

If you will die because you can't spare $800 bucks on a handheld device, you probably shouldn't be shopping at all.

Where are you finding a new OLED Steam Deck for $460? The cheapest one from Valve is $789 and was available briefly as a refurb for $729 yesterday.
