Is this lens still good considering its old co.pared to newer lens out now?
There are certainly more advanced lenses. They are not at exactly this focal length. This is still the best 28mm f/1.4 on all mounts but one, there is one equally best on nikon F. Modern budget option like the Viltrox 35mm F1.2 LAB is almost 2 times as expensive as this.
People here think those new batis lenses(which all have better and cheaper alternatives) asking 2 times the used price a deal, they should all buy this asking a lot less than the used price.
It's almost 2lbs. If the weight doesn't bother you and you specifically want 28mm (vs. a lighter 24mm or 35mm), it's worth it. Often called a "hidden gem" in the Art lineup.

Ummm, which newer 28mm f/1.4 are you comparing this to? I think this is considered one of the finest 28mm f/1.4 lenses ever made. I'm not sure if there is any "newer" lens that is considered better optically, or mechanically, or with better sealing, autofocus, etc.
There are newer, cheap non-autofocus lenses that are coming out of China, however none has the optical quality, or mechanical robustness of the Sigma Art series lenses. Even soem of the better Chinese-made 28mm f/1.4 lenses will be close to $400 or more and most will not even have autofocus.
However ... one big drawback of these Art-series lenses is that they are VERY large and VERY heavy (this one is close to 1.9lbs), and that may be the price you pay for the optical quality (I think the Zeiss 28mm f/1.4 is maybe 1.4 times heavier!!!)
Get this if you want the ultimate quality for your 28mm images. At $429, it's a great price which Is about $450 less (or about half) off its regular price.
But, you may have second thoughts if you think you'll be lugging this around all day as an everyday carry lens. The 28mm may be a popular focal length for street shooting, but I doubt any street shooter will enjoy using this as their main street shooting lens.

Thanks for the info, what camera do you recommend to mount it on?

This Sigma 28/1.4 may not be the best first lens you want to get for your first camera. I think to get the full potential of this lens deal, it would best be matched with a Sony A7RIVA or A7RV or Sony A1. These are all high end cameras with very high resolution sensors that can fully maximize the resolution and quality of this lens. The smaller A7CR has a similar sensor, however its compact size makes it less ergonomic with such a large lens.
The lens probably would be overkill for other Sony E-mount cameras.
