It might not see a substantial price drop until the end of the year. If you're holding off, I suggest purchasing this now. It's an excellent system. The AMD version is also good, but it offers only an 8% difference in performance for some gaming titles, which might still be significant to you.

The AMD version with Ryzen 9 9955HX, while having performance edge in Multi-threaded applications, it has a very poor batter life due to lack of optimization for idle use. For gaming performance, I have checked multiple reviews and at QHD resolution, they both performance same. Another thing, you want to know with AMD model, it lacks Thunderbolt or USB4 at all.

I'm referring to the hx3d version. However, everything else you mentioned is accurate.

after trying out the hx3d chip, I am pretty happy with it. (I dont have this laptop) but I did get lucky and snagged this new/old stock/clearance pricing from microcenter few months ago!
scar 17.3 7945hx3d, 4080, 32gb, 2tb for 825! 900 after tax. but it only came with 3 month manufacture warranty, they emailed me saying due to the price I paid, they only give 90 day warranty. which is bogus. but 32gb/2tb is worth it alone to me. but the games ive played on it, absolutely rip.

May be going for a 3rd party warranty is a good idea then.

I didnt even know you could buy a 3rd party warranty per se. microcenter said I waited too long 30 days.
but my credit card doubles the mfr 90 day warranty to 180 lol. its whatever though.
