I think these are largely traded in devices so keep it mind if they get flagged later on woot won't refund you outside of 30 days. I had one get blocked by Amazon for fraud 90 days later and Woot couldn't help. Had to do a chargeback.

Da hell you mean they couldn't help they sold you a device their parent company later blocked. The least they could do is refund you and take it back.

I can compare the two brands at the $100 price level. Alexa is better for music, with better bass. Google is better for answering questions.

Echo Studio isn't a bad buy at this price. The original has a 5.25in woofer vs the redesigns w a 3.75in. It uses a standard ungrounded ac power cord that you probably have a 100 of in your garage or would cost 5 more bucks to get.

The newer echos sound almost as good when closer but these are comparable to more high end bt speakers.

I'm about the same. Echo/Fire devices play music/control the lights/TV etc, Google homes answer questions or give the weather update. i have both connected to my home automations but echo is the primary, google is the backup.

If anyone wants the echo pop but not the niners branding, It's a silicone cover that holds a custom printed speaker grill. I bought the kid's echo pop with cartoon characters on it a few months back on a deal and just removed the silicon e cover and grill. Now it's just a plain white echo pop.
