I recently got it and haven't used it yet but it seems perfectly OK to me as a casual cook.

For you slickdealers who save money by taking your lunch to work rather than eating out, these make great leave-at-work plates to accommodate almost anything you bring.

I bought ten of these last time this was posted on the frontpage (by me). I really like the feel of them. Sturdy. Stacks well. Made in America. Has that and some instructions on care and Anchor Hockings name (in big letters) engraved in glass on bottom. Can give them away, or if you are in a small entrepreneurial type of mood, could fill them with pie you bake and sell the whole thing, pan included.

There's a competing product being sold by a company Libbey at Walmart that is the same price. It doesn't feel as sturdy, it doesn't stack well (because of small handles), could break easier, is made in Mexico, and only has mexico engraved on the bottom, no company name (same product is probably being repackaged for several different companies.) It is deep pie dish 9.5 inches D and 1.6 inches deep. It might be larger than what your recipes call for, but if you need a larger size, that is this products only advantage - but it comes with costs, flimsier, I think the glass may be cheaper, doesn't stack well, comes with two warnings about things in glass on label. Libbey started out as an American company, but manufactures its product in foreign countries now.

I have these plates and use them for everything, breading, weighing on my scale, eating from, baking pecan pies in, you really can't beat them they are great and I've used them for 8 years almost everyday now. They have some scratches and scuffs now, cosmetic, but no chips or anything like that.

Depending on the Pyrex it could be heavier. All Pyrex used to be borosilicate, which is lighter. Now it isn't.

This would be lighter: 3-Pack 9 in. Round High Borosilicate Glass Pie Plates with Handles, Clear Baking Dishes for Pies, Salads, Desserts Questions & Answers $57.46, Home Depot, but you'll pay alot more, and it probably wouldn't be worth it. Note, I'm not recommending the brand, in fact I'm not sure this listing has one, just posting as an example: https://www.homedepot.com/p/3-Pac.../339659468
The Anchor Hocking seems lighter than the Libbey, but it's also a slightly smaller shape, and it handles better.

Anchor Hocking dish: 2.16 LB (from listing)
Pyrex 9.5 inch: 2.5 LB (not borosilicate)
Arcuisine Borosilicate Glass Pie Dish w/handles: 1.52 LB
