For all the naysayers here about the SSD size, the CPU age, etc., use case matters. These are far more than adequate for office apps, web browsing, driving video projectors, etc. obviously not gaming machines. The SSD is easily upgradable m.2, but most cloud storage users won't care. The screen is also very good.

for MS Windows OS, the number one perceptual performance booster isn't CPU, nor even SSD speed. It's RAM size. 32 GB is great, 16 GB is the Goldilocks sweet spot, and 8GB very noticeably limits how much stuff you can have open at once.

And perhaps most importantly, the ThinkPad T-line at that time was still built like a tank.

Serious considerations here. Hate to ask but what is the display brightness/ nits. Didn't see it on quick search and the bot on the page didn't know...

That Intel Core i5-1145G7 2.60 GHz CPU is still fine for 'basic' laptop usage. My MS Surface Pro 7+ has it is still quite usable for local productivity apps and most cloud apps. In fact, my Pro 7+'s main bottleneck is its 8GB -- and this laptop's 32GB solves for RAM in spades.
Imo, however, a hot deal would be around $230 - 250.

Yes, agree that it's not the hottest price around, but with the current global supply issues around modern RAM affecting even old RAM pricing, 32 GB is going for over $100 used, $200 new. When that problem settles down, these machines will be going for 250 or less.

One of the things that most people aren't aware of is that even for a given specific CPU model in the laptop world, their performance throttling for thermal management is set by the laptop manufacturer, and can be adjusted in most cases, depending on the cooling capability of the laptop. The default setting is usually a happy medium between performance, heat dissipation, and battery usage. But you can almost always safely squeeze a little more performance out of these CPUs then what the factory default settings provide.

Off the top of my head I don't recall for sure, but I think the QHD+ displays were 400 nits. Unless you're a spec junkie, 400 nits is more than adequate for any indoor usage. In fact on my 400 knit screens I usually wind up turning the brightness down a bit!

Good machines with one caveat and I suspect it is why they are refurbished. Only one USB-C charging port and while not prevalent we've seen failures.

Ports: 2x Thunderbolt - am I missing something?

Answer: one usb and one barrel/ din port it seems.

Would hope that they are independent.

This model with the FHD touch display only came with either 300-nits 45% NTSC or the 500-nits 72% NTSC. However, there's no confirmation of which one it is out of these two. It can only be confirmed once someone gets this and testifies.
On the bright side, at least it's not the 250-nits display.

T-series is still built like a tank. It is difficult to find any deals on SSD anymore (and probably will be until 2030) but Microsoft keeps trying to put my stuff on OneDrive - and if you don't clutter up the drive with a lot of stuff, 256GB would be a good size (although Windows will eat a lot of it). And 32GB of memory (I think it is 16GB soldered, and 16GB in the slot) will be plenty for almost everyone. And plenty of these are sold, so there should be repair parts available.

This is not value deal, but Slickdeals. Irrelevant what is a better value regardless of price. The only metric that matters on this site is whether an item is exclusive or its price will imminently increase. In this case the answer is no to both. These aren't hard to find, and its price is not temporary nor will it appreciate in a few weeks.
