If you want to play it on both Switch I and Switch 2. It's best to buy the Switch 1 version and upgrade free to the Switch 2.

It doesn't matter on Silksong. The Switch 2 digital version of Silksong includes the Switch 1 version. Confirmed by multiple people online and Nintendo's website. The Switch 2 version lists the file size for both the Switch 1 and Switch 2 version.

Note - this is not a guarantee for all games. There are exceptions.

I have hollow knight on the steam deck. I dont think there is any bonus for having a saved hollow knight game when you start silk song, but I'm wondering if it's better to get silksong for PC (to play on the steamdeck) or for switch 2?
