I bought a refurbished watch 4 classic off eBay for $40. Is it worth upgrading for double the price?

Watch 4 no more OS update. Watch 6 will get 7 & 8. Current version is 6.

Good to know. Do you know if watch 4 is still useable on non Samsung phones? I traded in for a google pixel 10 T-Mobile deal

Quick research says that Pixel 10-series users have experienced persistent pairing and syncing issues between the devices. Possible issue. I don't have it to test though.

My watch 4 Classic works well with my pixel 8 pro. There are a few features that require a Samsung phone though. EKG is one. There may be others. I was surprised to get an update on it recently. I'm not sure if Samsung has really said there won't be more updates, but the 6 is a more likely.

Couldn't get more than 1.5 days from my watch 4 Classic, although I did like it. Traded it for a OnePlus Watch 2 and now get about 5 days with all the same apps installed. Will never go back.

This is the sweet spot for software/hardware IMHO. I use it with the Google Fi free wearable plan and my Pixel. The main feature that requires a Samsung phone is blood pressure. Samsung regularly offers great trade-in promos if you decide to upgrade to the latest gen eventually.
