I ordered this earlier in the week, supposed to have it today. I think there's really no other android tablet at this price with this level of performance and features. It's going to be my around the house tablet for the kids and wife to use and maybe I'll try some gaming on it.

Also, the Yoga Tab Plus is on sale for $475, it comes with the pen, kickstand and keyboard cover. I got it about a year ago for I think $495? It's been extremely solid, really quick performance, I use it at work with a wireless keyboard and mouse and a dual monitor setup and it handles it all really well. I retired my 2 in 1 laptop as this is easier to grab and through around my neck with a shoulder strap. So for anyone debating between paying potentially $650 for the next gen Idea Tab Pro, maybe consider the Yoga Tab Plus, it's running a snapdragon 8 gen 3 processor, still really powerful and relevant.
Sounds like you need a foam case and screen protector... I ordered mine on Aliexpress.

I've been thinking about this tablet for a while (it's been this price for a week now). The limited Android updates supported and the size are what is stopping me from pulling the trigger. Does anybody have any opinions or own this thing? I'm looking to upgrade from a Fire 10 HD Plus, which sux, but it still works. I had so many issues with my last iPad and its updates that I am shying away from Apple.
I just upgraded and think it's much better than my old Fire tablet. Did a deal with trade-in to get this tablet and the moto edge 2025 for $400 (plus the credit for my old phone) and have felt it was a good choice since I needed a decent unlocked phone. Much better speed and screen quality, but is pretty big (and heavy compared to a Fire since it has a metal frame) but that's nice for reading/studying, especially with a stand

I got these recently for my kids as Fire 10 replacements. They're of course way faster and more capable (and heavier) than the Fire, but maybe not quite as good as my 6th-gen iPad pro. Media consumption, drawing/writing, games, internet browsing, etc. are nice and smooth.
Cover/keyboard not included, so I got some 3rd party covers from Amazon. Pen was included, and is pressure-sensitive. One kid already lost their pen tip; replacement tips are $15/pair and quick from Lenovo.

This will be a relatively fast tablet. And should do all video viewing amazingly, it even has Dolby Vision.... displays pair the HDR and dynamic color capabilities of Dolby Vision with quad JBL speakers tuned by Dolby Atmos... all this to have a nice video experience.

About web browsing... yes it should be snappy BUT if you really want to improve your speed you should use Firefox and download and activate the addon... "Ublock Origin". Basically, after you install Firefox, google search "Firefox Ublock Origin" and install it. This will prevent Gigs and Gigs of internet data to never hit your CPU and this should be your biggest improvements regarding internet speed. If a specific website does not work due to the addon, then just use Chrome.
Thanks for the quick and helpful hints. Ordered one.

There was a point where google allowed Ublock Origin but it started to mess with their advertisement money. And I think you can still use it with Microsoft Edge but Firefox embraced Ublock Origin. This addon is a game changer.

This is so much faster and better than my old Fire tablet. Pretty happy with both the performance and screen quality. Best value tablet for me.

MediaTek Helio G100 and Helio G99 are virtually the same processor with identical speed and gaming performance. Your tablet is a G100.

I am sorry, your tablet can not even be discussed in the same breath as the Idea Tab Pro. Your tablet is a LOW LEVEL... or should I say.. the lowest level tablet that you can buy today. Maybe there is a worse fire tablet or a worse Onn tablet but really, the TCL NXTPAPER 11 Plus is a low end tablet.

I will say the one stand out feature is your screen... but the Lenovo screen is not too far off. My favorite part of your screen is the anti-reflection coating. But it is just 100nits brighter lower refresh rate and lower resolution. Almost a wash.

Regarding reading books...
Lenovo Idea Tab Pro features a dedicated Immersive Reading Mode specifically designed to make reading e-books and PDFs more comfortable on its LCD screen. This mode can transform the display to mimic the look of an e-reader.

HARDDRIVE: The Lenovo uses UFS 3.1 and the TCL uses UFS 2.2. Basically everything will run faster due to the difference in hard drive speeds.

RAM: LPDDR5X supports data rates up to 8,533 Mbps. In contrast, LPDDR4X reaches a maximum of 4,266 Mbps. Yes TCL uses DDR4X and the Lenovo Tab Pro uses DDR5X.

If I would have to classify the Lenovo Tab Pro I would say it is a HIGH END MID RANGE tablet. And TCL would be classified as "the lowest level tablet" that is for sale today.
Yeah I was just focusing on the screen, like the person who asked the question seemed to be mostly interested in. I'm not surprised this tablet is worlds better than mine, but for reading comic books, I'm very happy with my TCL 🤷 ♂️.

The Lenovo Tab Pro IMHO, is the better tablet.

CPU (4nm vs 7nm) is 30-45% faster in single core speed, about 60-80% faster in multiple core speed
GPU (4nm vs 7nm) is like 100-150% faster.

Screen... your screen nits goes to 500, the Lenovo screen goes to 400 nits but it has higher resolution and higher refresh rates. 2.5k VS 3K and 120Hz VS 144Hz. I would say the screen is almost a wash.

Hard Drive... yours uses USF 3.0 and this Lenovo uses USF 3.1 besides faster RAM.

Lenovo has MUCH less bloatware and spyware then Samsung.

Just realize that this tablet came out in 2024 and it is near it's end of life regarding upgrades and security. It shipped with Android 14 and updated to Android 16 (is their now). Security will be supported until January 2029.

YES...

Casual & Mid-Range Gaming: like Roblox, COD Mobile, or less demanding 3D games very well

High-End, Graphically Demanding Titles: For "heavy" games like Genshin Impact or Wuthering Waves, the tablet can play them, but it may require you to lower the graphical settings to maintain a stable frame rate. The device can get warm to the touch near the camera area during extended, intensive gaming sessions (30+ minutes).

Emulation: The MT8300 is capable

According to GSMArena, the price is expected around 550 EUR, which comes out to about $650 USD.

https://www.gsmarena.com/lenovo_i...-14575.php

Not sure how accurate that pricing will be, but it should be taken into account... will the Gen 2 be approximately 3 times the tablet over the Gen 1?

At $230, I might actually bite this time. Been wanting to get a bigger tablet over my A9+ for Steam Link.
It depends on what you do. For daily routine, no difference. My current tablet has Snapdragon 8 Elite, screen refresh rate 144hz, 900 nits (HBM), and 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. My daily driver phone is Pixel 7 Pro. I don't notice my Pixel 7 Pro is any slower than SD 8 Elite processor although it should be way, way slower. I just don't notice. Of course, I don't play video games.
