As in, garage sale used. If a place says "refurbished", but doesn't explicitly say what they've done -- then all they've performed is a power test, a wipe down of the casing, and a system reset.
No components have been replaced, no batteries refreshed, etc. In other words, nothing has been actually refurbished.
Descriptors such as "Very Good" or "Excellent" or "Open Box" are meaningless and vague enough to suggest pretty much anything. Don't be surprised if they sneak in machines that really ought to be in a lower tier. Assume any accessories (power supply, cabling, etc) are third-party or counterfeit.
You might get a system that's a corporate lease that's been babied on a desk for 3-4 years....or a beat-up road warrior laptop. Sight unseen. Good luck.
