I believe this is just an epix gen 2 in different skin. Its a beautiful watch but has an older sensor too.

You are spot on. I had so many Samsung and LG watches before this and I live with my garmin on My wrist all the time. It is such an amazing device.

The MARQ line is billed as "luxury" on Garmin's website. Based on the feature set it has the same things as my Fenix 7 which is already top of the line. In fact, my watch has a flashlight and solar charging. And it cost $450.

So I don't know what Garmin is thinking here. Maybe the kind of thing a person buys being money rich and sense poor, looking to larp as an athlete.

Lol seriously?I'm a runner and have been using garmin watches since 2015 and as much as i love garmin watches i hate to see garmin hiking up the prices up to the point where its becoming out of reach for everyone and I was referring to garmin following apple/samsung in term of jacking up the prices.P.S i currently run with fenix 7x sapphire solar which wont get updates anymore even tho it was released recently not too long ago making me boycott garmin once im done with fenix 7x.

Well, when I saw instincts 3 solar for 300$ i just instantly replaced my epix 2. Heavy 51 mm with feather plastic 45 mm. I had instinct 2 and the flashlight for me was the only, but must upgrade. Instinct 2 still doing good, epix as well. There is no way to make garmin look luxury so why pretending. I cant use maps and usually disabling touchscreen(any garmin has beautiful button navigation). But in the rest it's exactly the same watch with all the sensors and even payments under the hood.
So I'd never use any other smart watces, ever, probably not even other garmin ...

Garmin has really big line of all possible waches fo different lifestyles, literally everbody can find smth. But in general entry fee is low and you getting good sensors, apple pay, ant+ sensors, almost infinite battery, flashlight (but not infinite battery life). And you get like 1 month on charge of standby life with things like hr sensor working 24/7

So to summarize: if you are not collecting this wach for some reason. While for the half you can get brand new garmin that will be better.
