This looks like a great deal but make sure you understand how integrated led lighting works before buying. In my opinion this isn't particularly a permanent fixture if you use it heavily.

The lighting in this won't burn out like a standard lightbub. Instead it will very slowly get dimmer. The lighting in these is generally good for 10-25 years depending on the specific build and how much you use them. After this they won't be "burnt out" but will be significantly less bright then when installed. So if you want a more permanent structure in your home and don't plan on remodeling in the next 10-15 years I would get something that uses standard lightbulbs.

Now if you have a rental and end up replacing things like this every 10-15 years that is a totally different story and this is an amazing deal. Not having to change lightbulbs is a perk for your renter and not having to worry about a renter using the wrong type of light bulb and causing things to overheat is a win-win for both parties.

Picked one up, thanks! No idea if it's good (couldn't even find reviews), but need to update a ceiling fan and at this price, why not try it.

It would be nice if they made DC motor fans with regular bulb sockets more available, but almost every new fan has the integrated LED setup anymore. It does look like this fan has the bulb option, but it is $100 more.

Thanks Op, I snagged one for my bedroom, the old one chain broke and is ugly AF, so this is a good upgrade.

I wonder if you can modify the lighting setup to take bulbs instead (or when the light starts failing)?
