This is alot of money for a tablet. While the specs are good... there not that good to demand such a high price IMHO, with end of life support coming up, I would expect a price of $350 - $375.
There is another tablet... not as good... but almost as good for $237.50... the Lenovo Tab Pro. It has a MT8300 which is almost as fast as the SD 8 Gen 2.
The Idea Tab Pro is slower, has less RAM, half the size hard drive... but for real world activities they are about the same. The only advantage I would give the Plus over the Pro is in emulation. The Snap Dragon 8 Gen 3 could be one of the best emulation chips around... even if you have the 8 Gen 5, emulations have not been written yet for this CPU.
My advice is to save money and get the pro unless you are into emulation.
And yes, the screen on the Plus is MUCH better then the screen on the Pro.

And I do have an issue with this deal. But my reasoning may be flawed.
I feel why pay 475 when you can get something similar for 237.50. The Idea Tab Pro has a MT8300, while not as fast as this CPU it is not that much slower. Notebookcheck has this deal being 27% faster.

Don't get me wrong this tablet has double the RAM, double the hard drive space and better hard drive technology, is 27% faster and a better screen (goes brighter). The thing is, IMHO, real world performance will be very minimal unless you are a gamer and care about frames per second... but the thing is, if you are a gamer, I would think you would want a faster CPU (SD 8 Gen Elite or SD 8 Gen 5)
My advice is get the cheaper tablet and upgrade in about two years... by then surely OLED will be on many tablets.
I can justify spending $250 on a tablet if you are only getting 2 years of updates. But $475??? That is a lot to swallow.
Lets say you want this tablet because you can afford it and you want a decent screen. But if you "really" can afford it, why don't you get a OLED screen?
I will mention that we have seen the Oneplus Pad 3 sell for very close to $400. It will be updated to Android 18 (OxygenOS 18), and its official last day of support is June 19, 2031. Really, if you MUST get a high end tablet, I would wait for the Oneplus to go on sale again... it is also 3:2 aspect ratio (vs 16:10). The oneplus tablet is better due to it having the SnapDragon 8 Elite chip (but no micro SD card, which I never end up using).
OK, why would you get this tablet... You specifically want the Snap Dragon 8 Gen 3 Chip since this is currently the best chip for emulation because this chip has a very mature custom driver support... it is only time before the newer chips get the same mature custom driver support. This is the only reason that I can think of.

Apps will probably still run just fine for at least the next decade anyways as people running devices w/ Android 8.0/8.1 with modern apps just fine and most app developers still support 8.0 even later on most likely
