Clearly you are out of touch with the current computer parts prices and extent of inflation, comparing something that was supposedly this price two years ago! No way a SL5 is coming anywhere near to this price anytime soon.

Seems like a decent deal for a basic browsing/email laptop with an excellent screen. 1-year warranty included. Marked as "VERY GOOD" condition. That usually means the battery is at least 80%.

Wow, tempted to grab this. I have the i3 version that I use for a travel laptop. Same battery and form factor with great specs.

Thanks. Mom needed a new laptop. This one seems sturdy and has a nice touchscreen for the price.

Same. The battery replacement looks like a real pain so this is a good deal for stationary use.

16gb ddr4 and easily upgrade SSD are the advantages.

I've had a Surface 3 15" laptop for 7 years and it still works great. Unlike other brands like HP that only last about 3 years. Only issue was I had to replace several rubber feet that fell out. Also one pixel was bad from the start. A nice feature is the power supply cord pulls off instead of breaking the connector. This listing says refurbished, but missing feet. Sounds used, not refurbished! Thinking about getting one for my daughter for college but am concerned about buying a 7 year old laptop.

id say no go on this. we got a very good surface 4 laptop about 2ish years ago for roughly this price, maybe a bit less actually. you should be able to get at least a laptop 5 at this price by now.....IMO....your are going back so many generations, almost 8 years, at this point with a laptop 3....

btw the 4 has been great even though it is like 6 years old tech now, super nice, I'd say look for something newer if you can

This will last you way longer. I really compare Microsoft laptops and surface pros to Apple Mac books they really last almost forever. Now you are not going to do any gaming or extensive tasks on this but it will be fine for many users.

I have the same version, but with the smaller screen. It's been the most elegant and reliable laptop I've ever owned. The specs are sufficient for multitasking everyday tasks without delay.

I'm considering snagging one of these for my teen who doesn't game on PC.

I have a Dell XPS with an i7-10710u - biggest problem is that it runs SUPER HOT (sometimes it literally feels like you get 1st degree burn from just touching the bottom of laptop) from just doing basic photo editing and use of Thunderbolt dock seems to be hit or miss (cuts in and out frequently). 11th gen Intel runs noticeably cooler.

That is the one reason I hated XPS; otherwise, it is a great laptop.
