my simple points about most of them
1. Garmin has already indicated Fenix9 is coming out by end of 2026 instead of 2027 which will push all prices down since better features/software on Fenix9 - check sites like GarminRumors .com for news
2. Never buy a Garmin over $500, as soon as factory refurbs are available from customer returns, they are "like new" and sometimes HALF the price, eventually
3. I've owned Garmin for two decades now, there has been a SERIOUS degrading of quality in their support, hardware and especially software since 2020, IMHO there is no Garmin worth over $500 anymore because of actual competition from other brands finally after all these years
personally I'm looking to exit the Garmin universe after all these years,
too many bugs and lack of features

Garmin fēnix 8 Pro is a rugged all purpose multisport watch that stands out for battery life, dive and outdoor features, and built in satellite InReach. The flashlight, offline music, full map access, and physical buttons add real everyday utility, and the AMOLED screen makes notification photos easy to see. The 47mm size can feel bulky and snag on things, and AMOLED may shorten battery life. It is a feature packed option if you want one watch to cover a lot of ground.
The watch can display Ring notification pictures clearly on the AMOLED model.
The watch can run multiple CIQ datafields at once for richer on-device metrics.
The watch supports direct music downloads and includes a flashlight for everyday use.
The watch can integrate Satellite InReach features so location notices and pictures send from the watch.
The 47mm model can snag on things during everyday movement.
AMOLED use can shorten battery life compared with non-AMOLED expectations.
Software updates can increase battery drain and require forum checking to troubleshoot.
The watch can feel bulky or thick for formal outfits and some non-diving use cases.

Instead of buying the Apple Watch Ultra (mainly for battery) or a Garmin I bout an Amazfit watch. There are previous Garmin employees working there.
Watch has been awesome. Has a lot of the same features, especially body battery. I paid around $150 and the battery lasts 30 days.
Only thing I miss is Apple Pay on the watch but I have my phone so no big deal.
