Any thoughts on what you would do with this that wouldn't be more practical with a reciprocating saw?

Perhaps someone who bought the earlier Frontpage deal might provide a review?

This is a really niche buy. IMO for it to be worth your investment you have to already own Craftsman V20 power tools and larger capacity batteries (the 2ah isn't going to accomplish much) and have a need for cutting trees with a max of 8in diameter. I bought it because that's the exact situation I'm in. I have 2 9ah V20 batteries that came with my mower and some smaller trees in my backyard I wanted to cut. It also seemed like a good idea to have for camping or for hurricanes for only $95

I already have a few other Craftsman tools so I have a few larger batteries. I have some small trees I'm planning on taking care of with this.

I have a $600 really nice echo compact chainsaw that i use for commercial work but this little chainsaw is actually pretty good for small tasks at home or thinner branches, quick tasks. 1/3rd of the weight, super easy to turn on and much safer to operate, cleaner too. Not dealing with gas or smoke.

I have a B&D 20v chainsaw. Works good for quick and small tasks. But I still have gas powered saws for "real" work.
