The only annoyance is linking the speakers to all play at the same time. Each new generation of speakers had a new technology that wouldn't work with the previous. It's annoying once in a while when people get together with different speakers and you want to link up. my 4 speakers can link by my buddies newer Xtreme 3 can't connect. That's all in the past however with Bluetooths new Auracast technology which the Boombox 4 has. No matter what speaker you own, which brand, they can connect to each other as long as they have Auracast (which all new speakers will have). I recently got the JBL Partybox120 for that exact reason. It's future proof. I can have my big speakers at the front of the room and then connect a bunch of smaller speakers to it and set them around the room for a fuller all around sound. It's really cool for a party.
