$700 tablet. No fingerprint sensor (read, you will be punching in your password or pattern. A lot). No cellular connectivity. I guess there might be a couple of hardcore gaming cases this product answers but I find it amusing how iPad Mini continues to be such a better value prop for the rest of us...

iOS sucks, i can never imagine myself using ipads... yucky. But Apple do make beast products, I guess it all depends on what OS u prefer.

iOS sticks indeed and I don't enjoy it. But iPad mini has a killer screen, fingerprint sensor, and cellular connectivity - all for $300+ (barely used last gen model). Compared to this, I cannot take 8" Android tablets seriously.

Facial recognition is extremely inferior in these tablets and it doesn't clear the bar imposed by Android as secure biometrics. meaning that you can at most use it to unlock the tablet.. Any apps relying on biometric login will not be able to use it. (Same is true unfortunately for Samsung, which has much better face recognition but still not as good as Pixel's one).

The Legion Tabs are all about gaming. If you arent into gaming, they arent necessarily the best offering. However they are capable of emulating up to PS2 amd can run PC games from Steam, Epic, and GoG. They cant run everything, but compatibility of the translation layers is improving. The Gen 3 can run Indies and older AAA games. The Gen 5 can run all but the most demanding games (as long as the game/processor/gpu is supported by the translation layers).

Agreed. Unfortunately the situation with other 8" tablets is even more miserable. Alldocube comes close but no f/p sensor, no updates and no US availability lol that opportunity as well.

Am i the minority, I prefer my electronics with no lock screen, password, or fingerprint reader. What are you trying to hide that locking the device is such a priority!

You're paying for gaming/emulation performance with the Legion... And Android, because its more free still... I've heard that google will be locking down Android to be like Apple iOS though.

That said, I agree with you that this price is not such a good value, when the Gen 3 was $387 the other day: https://slickdeals.net/f/19586553-lenovo-legion-tab-gen-3-gaming-tablet-8-8-qhd-165hz-touch-snapdragon-8-gen-3-12gb-lpddr5-256gb-ufs-386-99
