Back down to the original launch price.

I've been using this as my main work laptop since April. No issues with any software so far including more niche stuff like Tableau Desktop, Checkpoint VPN, Insta360 Studio. Only incompatibility has been the PCI-E pass-through 2.5Gbe Ethernet driver on my HP G4 Thunderbolt 4 Dock because HP doesn't have a driver for this platform.

Very fast, super quiet, huge RAM etc. etc. that you can see reviews for. This model has on-die RAM (SiP memory) like Apple M chips; lower X2 SKUs are not on-die

Probably one of the best deals in a laptop given the 48GB RAM and the Snapdragon Elite X2 seems to be killing it in reviews. From what I've read, this is one of the faster laptops you can buy and at $1600 (while everyone else is well north of $2K or $3K) it's a great deal!

I've been eyeing open box to see if the price goes down further but now @ $1599 for a brand new one, I might just have to try it out!

Generally against plans but the Best Buy $30 plan may be worth the 60 day extended return period

Someone just posted the ASUS S16 with Ryzen 465 and 32GB for $1,550. Heavier and worse "benchmark" performance. Definitely the ARM / compatibility question is something you gotta weigh especially if its your only device, but if it works it is really good IMHO

From the reviews I've read, the Elite X2 series has stepped up compatibility over the original series CPU. Printer drivers might still be an issue for some printers, but applications are supposed to be MUCH better.

I'm a full-fledged Total member so I already enjoy that perk plus 2-year warranty (although with ASUS, 2nd year has a deductible).

I have this exact model. It launched at $1600.
It's X2E-94-100 not X2E-96. That's about 300 MHz slower.
The battery life is somewhat weak. Maybe 10 hours on a good day.
Trackpad is garbage for such an expensive laptop.

Very fast CPU. Nice screen. Very light.

This was supposed to release at $1500 but Asus said oh that was a mistake and released it to BB at $1700. The reviews before release all said it was a great price and great system at $1500 but not higher and felt they were tricked when the price changed on them.

Hey Hat-Trick,What is it with you and Asus Zenbooks, it seems you advocate for them in every post? This deal is what the regular price supposed to be at by Asus but you are like going after every Asus Zenbook post. I noticed your comments on the S16 a few weeks ago so did that die or something?

Is there a problem giving my opinion on Zenbook deals? Should I just comment ONCE on a Zenbook deal and then never again on any further Zenbook deals? People don't generally go back to older deals for the same item and read the comments so adding my opinion as the deals come up seem useful. Maybe you should ask what's with the same people that post negative crap on every Snapdragon X deal? At least my posts are informative and positive about the product and not crapping on every deal. You can choose to block my posts if you're that bothered by it.

I do still have my S16 but the A16 is such a powerhouse of a laptop for the price, that YES, I've been eyeing it. I'd sell my S16 if I got the A16 as I don't need two 16" laptops (three, actually, as I have a 16" MBP).

What's the issue with trackpad? I have not heard any complaints from any YT reviews. Care to elaborate?

Didn't Nvidia announce it's ARM processor for the future meaning with Nvidia more people are gonna be compatible now with not just snapdragon but Nvidia also, and isn't apple on ARM architecture where these prices are common
