Not entirely accurate in your response.The spool is aluminum and the frame is graphite. Depending on your use, that may be perfectly fine. Graphite is cheap and weaker, aluminum is heavier but more durable and generally does not flex like graphite can.But it's a $30 reel, I think it would serve the purpose for most freshwater fishing.
