I have a Vader 4 Pro that I'm pretty happy with but I need a second controller for my work PC and I know the Vader 5 Pro had some issues out of the gate when it first came out. Think there's much risk in ordering this and not getting the old version? Thanks for any input anybody could share and happy gaming to all!
Don't know if that it was a Gamesir problem, but based on reviews on other sites, I have a feeling it was probably an aliexpress problem.
I have no concrete proof other than personal experience, but the controller was either a good in appearance/cheap counterfeit, or some old stock just sitting in a warehouse with bad conditions somewhere. Warranty support in my case: non existent.
TLDR: I will never buy a controller from AliExpress again.

There are AliExpress deals posted here all the time. And some of those deals are genuinely worth it.
Folks can decide for themselves if they would rather buy from Amazon etc. or AliExpress. Obviously, AliExpress can't match Amazon in their customer service, range of products, reliability or speed of delivery. Not to mention the AliExpress app which is just horrible. The app is an unintuitive mess; you'll be hard-pressed to find a worse e-commerce portal. But the thing is -- everyone knows those trade-offs. Obviously not every time, but sometimes the savings really are worth those trade-offs. Personally, I only order cheap stuff that I know I'm not going to have to return. Have been ordering from them for years and never had a problem. But that's not to say I'll never buy more expensive items from them. Just that the savings in my mind have to be worth those trade-offs. I would rather see those deals here on SD and make up my own mind, than be oblivious altogether.
(Side note, just to share an incidental experience - I lost the original strap on Meta Quest 3; I needed it cause that is the best way to use the Quest 3 lying down in bed. The cheapest I could find a replacement was ~$25 on Amazon and Walmart. And Meta wanted a ridiculous amount for the original; like $60 or so. I got one from AliExpress for 88cents! And it's practically indistinguishable from the original; at least from what I remember the original was like).
