Maybe I'm just getting old, but I much prefer the industrial look of the glass-free cases like this one. To each their own, I'm just glad these options still exist.

I'm 38 and I too prefer no glass or RGB on my CPU cases.

This case is neat. Theres the ability to put a 120mm fan in front that they don't mention.

I built my dad a PC in this with a Ryzen 5600 and RTX 4060, runs great and no heat issues.

I'm 42, I've never owned a case with glass panels. I bought my Fractal Design Meshify C and S2 because they came in steel side panel options.

Tempered glass is too temperamental. You can baby it for years and it will still explode on you. It's not worth the risk.

First time I'm hearing about the glass being an issue. Is that "explosion" for real?

My mom had a glassware cabinet for over twenty years, tempered glass shelves. One night at 4am, one shelf decides "yeah, now seems like a good time to die" and just completely quit. Fortunately, the glass was behind doors and contained the damage.

The shelf wasn't overloaded, didn't have anything that would compromise the glass, and worked faithfully for 20 years... Until it didn't.

Of course, my situation is super rare and unique, but after helping mom clean the mess and seeing how upset it made her, I swore off tempered glass. I'll gladly take wooden tables and metal PC cases, please.

You know cases are reusable, right? You don't need a new one with every build.

I plan on using my Meshify S2 for as long as humanly possible.

They always got something "new". The last 2 cases I bought I thought they were end game

I have a Cubix G style case, and I gotta say that the removable front glass panel makes it a pleasure to build in such a compact case because there's so much clearance. I just wish it was released sooner before I got this aliexpress case for the same price without the fans.

What did the new cases have that your old cases lacked? Were those features not already available in other cases?

My S2 is a 7 year old design and has never left me wanting more.

After building three ITX PCs (9, 10, and 12L) the phase is over for me.

They are nice if they intend to occupy a- literal- desk top... so you're not using up desk space or have this looming tower always in your face. But if you do the typical thing of placing it besides or under your desk, the space savings become somewhat irrelevant and the compromises and ITX tax disfavor the smaller builds.

I've switched to having a full-sized desktop- with its cavernous sound dampening sides, quiet large fans, and room for drives and PCIe add-ons- besides-and-under the desk for gaming or content creation... but a lighter smaller quiet solution for day-to-day use (either a docked laptop or mini-pc).

I do like that more ITX cases tends towards glass free options... I've never needed or wanted to see my PC insides during use.
