Enter an apocalyptic fantasy world where humanity is on the brink of extinction, iron is valued above gold and trust is hard earned. This ARPG features complex character development, hundreds of unique items, crafting and quests with choice & consequence.

Basically Titan Quest with a different skin, and I say that endearingly. I actually enjoyed playing TQ on Android with a controller (actually less tedious than playing with KB&M), I hope they'll port Grim Dawn as well someday.

It regularly goes down to $2.49 for base, including in the last few months. All DLC historic lows, excluding the sound track and supporter stuff (I'd argue Crucible is not part of the game) is really just the base game, AoM, and FG, which totals $17.68 lowest.

It's the best ARPG hack and slash there is. I've played this 2-3x more than my next-highest game, so I've bought supporter packs and know you'd be happy at any price if you like ARPGs. This game has been officially out for 10yr but I've been playing it since before then, and they're still adding base-game content. Looks like a new DLC is coming out next month! 🤤

Grim Dawn did start out with a similar feel to Titan Quest because it was built on the TQ engine and started by former TQ developers, but it's evolved into it's own beast. Constellations, crafting, the world/lore, and the Faction system are a totally different gameplay. I've gone back to TQ and miss a lot of the GD QoL stuff.

I bought the base game years ago but never started it. How critical is the DLC for playing with the online community? Like can you still happily co-mingle with DLC guys on base game stuff, or is your experience going to be hampered because you're trapped in vanilla gameworld while the majority of the community is in base+DLC worlds?

If you're looking for just anyone to join online, players need the same version and DLC mix, but surely the system would find a group out there with just the base game. I've only played with IRL friends, so I am unable to comment on the online community.

I have tons of solo characters, don't be afraid to jump and try out some class/skill combos you find interesting, Admiral Asshat.
