I don't believe they have any form of subscription. Footage is stored on the memory card in the camera. It can be automatically transferred to an ftp drive or a Reolink NVR, or I don't know what else. Everything can be accessed over LAN via the phone app or Windows app, no Internet required. With Internet, and for free, their servers will let your apps talk to your camera. Alternatively you can vpn into your own router to see the cameras remotely. Basically, unlike most cameras these days, these will be pretty much fully functional if their servers go down.

with the cameras angled away from each other, is there a "blind zone" between them? what reason (apart from 1 cable and mounting space saving) is there to buy this vs buying 2 separate cameras (@$60 each) for the same price? genuine questions. i'm a noob.

I dont have this exact model, but a similar one with a floodlight attached, and there is no blind spot between the fields of view.
Aside from any other differences of features on the cameras, the draw of using this one device instead of two separate ones is that 1)you only need to run wires for a single device, 2)both cameras can record to a single sd card, 3)both views show up together as a single camera device in the app or your NVR, 4)it looks cleaner than having two separate devices right next to each other.
There are some drawbacks as well, such as a single failure point can take out both views, and you are more limited in the directions the two views can aim relative to each other.

Its just nice to look at this way. Often motion will go from 1 camera to the other and you can see the whole scene. It also fills a modern phone screen nicely. I think in version 1 there was an option to veiw each of the individual lenses, but in version 3 i havent found that option.

There are settings to adjust the stitch. Its not always perfect. of there is a spider web on one side and not on there other, it will be clear its 2 images. I saw my neighbor walking in his yard the other day and he vanished for a second. But only because he was far away. There isnt really a blind spot someone could sneak up or do something horrible in if thats what you are thinking

I have the plug in wifi version and there isn't a blindspot that I see, the two images stitch together well.

Reolink are always running specials and sales. Seems like they are pushing promotion on slickdeals right now. Not really super slick deal since they are always doing promos. Just check their site from time to time to see if the setup you are interested in is on sale.

I also have 2 of this camera.
There is no gap in the middle and you can adjust the seam vertically in case they aren't lining up. At the highest bitrate they take ~1.5MB/s. Color night vision is solid.
I have a duo2 camera as well but it broke (1 mo after warranty). While their support wouldn't still swap it they gave me a discount on my 2nd duo3. I tracked the issue down to a bad decoupling capacitor on the power board and they told me the appropriate rating needed to replace it. (I never want to solder something that small again) The duo2 lives again!

Thanks, an additional $3.60 off is something. Edit: $6.00 off. Not worth the effort to cancel and reorder for $2.40 more. Smilie
