Got one of these last time. It turned out to be one that had been replaced under warranty and was nonfunctional (i.e., someone bought the pencil, it didn't work or they broke it, they contacted Apple for a replacement under warranty, got the replacement, and then returned the nonfunctional one to Amazon for a refund). I know that is likely a rare issue, but I suggest checking it out sooner rather than later if you purchase one so you can return it within the window for returns.

Used Apple Pencil Pro units here can land just under $49 after the coupon, making the deal attractive for anyone wanting Apple Pencil Pro features at a lower price. The strongest reports are of units pairing and charging normally, with one arriving in slightly worn packaging but otherwise looking new. AppleCare coverage may be possible by providing an invoice and serial number, though used pencils are described as having no warranty. The main risks are dead batteries, nonfunctional replacements, and occasional wrong-item shipments, so testing quickly matters.

Common Questions (3)

  • Yes. Some units arrived dead, would not charge, or were nonfunctional, so testing within the return window is important if you want time to return a bad one.

  • The checkout total lands a little under $49 for one unit, with one breakdown showing $55.51 subtotal, 15% off to $47.18 before tax, and $3.77 estimated tax. Two units with the coupon came to $106 after tax.

  • It can be added by calling AppleCare and providing the retailer invoice plus the Pencil's serial number, which may need to be written onto the receipt. One report says a used Pencil 2 and a used Pencil Pro were both added this way.

Man, I missed the 20% off coupon part initially and thought this was $61. Total came out a little below $49, sweet deal! Also a side note: AppleCare+ on an iPad includes coverage for one Apple Pencil and Magic KeyBoard folio each.

That's for the reminder. I got one last time and it's sitting in a drawer, barely tested it. 12 days left to make sure it has no quirks

Bought one last time, works great but had the same thought about AppleCare and read their policy. Used pencils have no warranty and supposedly you have to call in and get the pencil added and can't because you don't have a receipt that would say it's new. Is this not the case?

Any issues returning these if they don't work? Some of the posts here scare me.
