With this money you can't even buy JUST the ram and ssd that comes in this. Pretty decent if you ask me.

I think they are alluding to some people have claimed (not sure if I believe 99% of the cases...) they have been banned for using Linux based OS's on handheld PC's, anti cheat thinking Linux is cheat software. I take those claims with a grain of salt because the people who tend to make those claims are often pretty toxic...so just guessing their ban might be behavior based.

*FWIW this handheld should be Win 11 so wouldn't apply here but I could see people getting confused.

Note that this has the Z2 A processor which is pretty much at the bottom of the pecking order.

I play cod on my Asus Rog Ally X everyday and play online and never got banned, sounds like a kid made up a lie

Yes this is what I was talking about. I read it somewhere and wanted to know from others if it had actually happened. I wanted to get one so my kid could play Fortnite and war zone but when I read it, it made me a bit worried so I was looking for others experience with it.

Hey do you run the game from an sd card or did you install it on the Asus hard drive?

I've heard about Warzone as well. I honestly would lean on believing those claims more since the COD games (Maybe Fortnight as well) are so heavy handed with their kernel level anticheat to the point you can't even play most Call of Duty games in single player on Linux / SteamOS.
That being said, these games are really hard to even get installed and loaded on Linux / SteamOS, you'd have to do an absurd amount of effort to even get far enough to the point you could, in theory, get banned.

P.S. You can get around all of this by running (or dual booting) Windows. Another thing you can do is locally stream the game from a Windows PC however that might introduce a little input lag. On a decent wifi connection it shouldn't be huge but even a little lag online gaming can really impact how competitive you are.
