The difference is that "Premium Plus" gives you 1 credit a month to use on any audiobook and you will 'keep' it unlock in your library, even if you cancel the membership later. "Standard" lets you 'select' one audiobook per month, and you can ONLY listen to it IF you maintain a membership. If you don't have a membership, then you can't listen to any books you got under "Standard."
I usually get the (what is now) Premium Plus level, but Audible changed their membership levels/options some time ago and I didn't look carefully and signed up for the Standard tier. Fooled me once, Audible...

Also, fyi, check out Hoopla via your library - the audiobooks there have no wait time, they're always available. And of course, it is a smaller selection than the main Libby selection, but it's quite a lot of options all the same.
Libby won't be damaged CDs. It's not the same thing at all. And it will have a lot more options than what the library carries on physical media. Yeah, Audible has some things the library doesn't and has some features I like better, but your reason is not one I've heard before for not using the library for audiobooks, lol.
Also, fyi, check out Hoopla via your library - the audiobooks there have no wait time, they're always available. And of course, it is a smaller selection than the main Libby selection, but it's quite a lot of options all the same.
I use both Libby and Hoopla and I think it depends on the library as to how easy it is to check out books. I've had some books in my Libby account on hold for months because they have limited licenses available so I have to wait to listen. I have two weeks to listen to the audio book on Libby and it appears I can listen to as many as I can check out per month... up to 10 out a time.
On the Hoopla app I usually request the books just after midnight, as their daily allotment resets each night, and I get my books then. Hoopla has a much larger selection compared to Libby, but it appears each is different depending on what the library signs up for. I get to check out audio books for three weeks on Hoopla, but I have limit of 8 total per month.
I prefer Hoopla, based on the two libraries I use, but my opinion might change depending on how other libraries have their access setup through each provider. I check both and use both, but I mostly use Hoopla due to the larger library and ease of accessing the books more quickly.

I am not sure what Libby is yet. I used a lot of library audio CD in the years (decades) and I had used the digital check out for audio books as well. They have limited copies and not always available so I slowly stop using it because of the wait time. My library doesn't seem to have Hoopla or I am not sure how to look for it yet. I haven't use library for a few years now.
If it's something you have any interest in, ask your librarian if they offer help on how to use eresources like Libby and Hoopla. Some libraries have periodic workshops on that, and some may just say a staffer can sit down and show you how to use it. But if you're happy using Audible, that's cool, too.

The problem I've found is the sync doesn't always work, in which case, if I've got to hunt for my spot between the two formats, I may as well be using the free audiobook from the library. Sometimes the only reason I bought the Audible version was so I could sync with my Kindle ebook (whether it's a book I owned or on loan from the library). I like going between listening while doing various things in the day and later reading in bed at night.
