Note that this is the STANDARD membership level, and not the "Premium Plus."

The difference is that "Premium Plus" gives you 1 credit a month to use on any audiobook and you will 'keep' it unlock in your library, even if you cancel the membership later. "Standard" lets you 'select' one audiobook per month, and you can ONLY listen to it IF you maintain a membership. If you don't have a membership, then you can't listen to any books you got under "Standard."

I usually get the (what is now) Premium Plus level, but Audible changed their membership levels/options some time ago and I didn't look carefully and signed up for the Standard tier. Fooled me once, Audible...

Warning, this is the crappy plan without credits. When you decide to stop paying, you lose everything, you can't listen to the books you previously picked.

Not sure if this is allowed but for those interested in keeping your books after cancelling your membership (or keeping titles that are included for "free" with the premium membership), take a look at Libation. It allows you to download your current library for offline (and post-membership) listening.

Ever since I started getting my audiobooks from two local counties' library systems, i don't buy from audible anymore, unless I want them or can't get them from the libraries.

I switched to the yearly Premium version last year and love that I get 12 books to "keep" and lots of "Plus" books that you can read for quite a while until they go back to regular purchase. If you haven't tried audio books out yet, I recommend trying it and seeing if it works as well for you, as it does for me!😊

That's not very nice of Audible... I miss their old way of doing things... we lived in simpler times back then.
