This Blink bundle stands out for adding six cameras and a Sync Module XR at a low upfront price, with some praise for better image quality and wider coverage than older setups. The XR system can work well, and the bundle is cheaper than buying the module alone in some comparisons. The main catch is the subscription and storage setup, since cloud saving requires a plan unless you add a separate Sync Module 2 and USB drive. Reliability concerns also come up, including cameras going offline, delayed notifications, weak motion detection, and occasional loss of recordings.
People who are fine paying for cloud recording, because saving clips requires a subscription with the included sync module.
Homeowners wanting a low-cost multi-camera setup, because the XR bundle can cover more of a property and the cameras work reasonably well for that use.
People who need dependable motion alerts, because the cameras can miss nearby movement, detect branches instead, and notifications can arrive late or not at all.
Households that want set-and-forget reliability, because cameras can go offline, need resets, and the hub can force storage reformatting that wipes recordings.
They can be slow and miss motion, with delayed or late notifications. Reports include a person not being detected at 6 feet, vehicles missed on a driveway, and false triggers from a tree branch.
They can randomly go offline after a few months and require resets, with some setups showing low-battery messages before going dark again. In some cases the issue was traced to the sync module, and swapping the module fixed it.
Yes, the included Sync Module Core requires a Blink Subscription Plan to save clips to the cloud. Without it, you can view cameras live, but saved clips are deleted after 60 days unless manually downloaded.
Yes, local recording is possible with a separately purchased Sync Module 2 and a USB drive, which avoids the subscription. The tradeoff is that live-view footage cannot be saved while you are watching it, so motion has to be captured by a camera not being viewed live.
I had Costco 5 camera bundle which I returned after almost 8 months. The problem started about 3 months after I installed the cameras. Cameras will randomly go offline and had to reset. After reset they will show low battery for a few minutes and go dark again. Customer support then ask for ton of data, send replacement batteries and the problem will be back after couple of weeks. This happed to all cameras over 8 months. I got tired of wasting time with troubleshooting and returned the bundle.
So they hide in it the smaller print at the bottom but the sync module included in this is the Sync Module Core. The pro to this is you can tune in on your cameras and record live. The con is that you NEED a subscription to save videos and recording. At $12 USD a month. You get unlimited storage but unless you download the saved clips manually they are deleted after 60 days.
If you want to avoid the subscription you will need to buy a sync module 2 seperatly. You can plug up to a 256gb USB into this and save as many things as you want without a subscription. The drawback is that if you are watching live you cannot save the footage (I.E you check your doorbell live and see somebody swipe a package you better hope a camera you arent watching live picks it up). Additionally the extra cost is about $50 for the module and up to $30 if you buy a large name brand USB (though thats together it's still cheaper than 1 year of cloud)

Not that it matters now, though, as a FYI it was probably the sync module. I have 30+ Blink cameras covering 3 homes using 5 sync modules. I would say they are adequate at best. I'm grandfathered in, so I don't have a subscription. I had an issue last year like yours; it ended up being a sync2 module. Blink didn't figure it out; I ended up switching out the sync module for a spare, and after that the issues went away.

I've had my blink setup for 8 years with various first, second and third gen cameras on a grandfathered in no subscriotion deal. But gen 4 is notoriously bad. Look for the reviews online and see for yourself. I had a few 4s but it slowed everything down and notifications came really late if at all. The Gen 4 cameras may have a wider FOV, are clearer and better in low light but if they miss the motion capture or it's delayed so much that it's useless then there's no point at all. I had to return the Gen 4s. Avoid this deal

A better deal for some might be the new XR+ Module with 6 cameras for $175. Delivered Monday Vs the module alone for $99 with delivery on the 20th.
I cancelled my module order for this one with 6 cameras for an extra $75.
The XR works reasonably well and hope the new one will get me to other parts of my property.
One thing I did not know was that there is no siren button on Blink cameras that run on battery, which almost every camera company(including Arlo older wireless cameras on battery) has as an option.
Blink is a waste of money for me at this point because of that.
I've been using the 4s with the XR for about 9 months and I've kind of hated them from the start. I would have returned them, but I bought them from Best Buy and their return window is abysmal. Even with the motion detection turned all the way up, it is horrible compared to my old Wyze cameras. On the first day trying them out, one camera wouldn't even detect a person walking 6 feet away from it. I have one pointed down my long driveway, and on some clear days it won't even detect a vehicle, but then on others it will detect the motion of a tree branch from the tree it is mounted on..
"Save and share clips in the cloud with an optional Blink Subscription Plan, or store them locally for free using the Sync Module XR and a USB flash drive (sold separately)."
Is the local option not feasible? I am not at all interested in cameras that require a subscription.

These cameras barely work and miss lots of events. The hub goes off-line repeatedly and forces you to reformat your storage causing you to lose all of your recordings.

The Sync Module Core setup can let you tune in to cameras and record live without relying on cloud clip storage.
Swapping a problematic sync module with a Sync Module 2 reportedly resolved random offline behavior in a multi-camera Blink setup.
The XR camera bundle reportedly improved coverage across more of a property compared with buying the module alone.
Blink floodlight camera image quality reportedly came out substantially better after replacing a Ring floodlight camera.
The Sync Module Core included in the bundle reportedly requires a subscription to save videos to the cloud.
Cloud clips reportedly delete after about 60 days unless they are manually downloaded.
Battery-powered Blink cameras reportedly lack a siren button, which some other battery camera brands offer.
Cameras reportedly can go offline after around three months, show low battery briefly after resets, and go dark again across multiple cameras.
