Historic data suggests this could hit $799 in July based on shopmyexhange for base M4 last year. I'm no longer in the hunt since the $1049 13 inch 24gb 1tb M5 Amazon drop but I'll be curious to see if history repeats itself.

Historic data suggests this could hit $799 in July based on shopmyexhange for base M4 last year. I'm no longer in the hunt since the $1049 13 inch 24gb 1tb M5 Amazon drop but I'll be curious to see if history repeats itself.

It hit $699 several times last year at aafes. But msrp was $999 vs $1099. Current price reflects -200 off msrp you're referring to but I think it will hit the $799 price. I wish I saw the deal you got though.

Previous gen M4 version hit $699 a couple times last year. I doubt this one will drop that low, because of higher starting price (with twice the storage), RAM being more expensive, everything more expensive, etc. It might drop down to $799. It might not.

I'd say if you need a new computer, jump on it. If you're not in a rush, may as well wait and see.

PSA the speakers are worse than the M1 air 2020.
they moved the speakers from stereo position to the vents in order to make the Pro more of an upgrade.

That also applies to memory, idk why everyone is so obsessed with getting as much memory as possible to just do basic tasks. Browsing, videos, email, etc will not need more than 16GB for a long time.
