The DJI Neo 2 Fly More Combo is shaping up as a compact beginner drone that shines for hands free filming, quick launch and land, and follow me shots for hiking, biking, and other outdoor action. The enclosed props and palm takeoff make it feel safer around people, and the extra batteries and controller add flexibility when manual flying is needed. It can still crash in tight trees or brush, and smooth control gets harder at speed or with phone based virtual joysticks. The deal price also appears to vary, with PayPal checkout dropping it to about $314 before tax.

Common Questions (5)

  • Yes, it is well suited for quick outdoor shots, especially when you want fast launch-and-film convenience without much controller setup. It can keep up on downhill rides and tight trails, but thick brush, branches, and leafy obstacles can cause crashes.

  • Yes. The checkout total can drop to about $314.23-$314.28 before tax, including a $17 PayPal discount from AliExpress checkout. The final price may vary by session.

  • Yes. It can follow you and be controlled with gestures through the app, and it can take off and land from your palm. Keeping your phone connected is recommended so you can take over control if needed.

  • It is described as under 0.55 lb, so recreational registration is not required under that threshold. Still, registering it is recommended, especially if you plan to fly regularly.

  • Not necessarily. The unit may be a China-market version, and US support is not expected because it is not officially available in the US.

Hi, I just tested it again and it worked for me.

It actually looks like the price dropped. Mines money to 314.23 AC

Absolutely love mine as a beginner drone. I paid about $100 more. I have had it "follow me" mountain biking and it has done an excellent job in very tight trees. Hit a tree or 2 but it is still flying well.

A fantastic beginner drone, you do not have to use the controller which is the biggest advantage, you can have it follow you and control it with gesture (need to watch guide in app in order to enable).
It is under 0.55lbs meaning you do not have to register for recreational use in US(still, I'd recommend doing so, and be sure to go over https://uavcoach.com/faa-recreati...-training/)
And even if you're flying without controller it would be the best to keep your phone connected all the time just in case you need to take over the control.
I would consider this a flying selfie stick that has a stick as long as your phone wifi range (practically speaking 900feet in direct line of sight, taking drone battery life into consideration when fully charged) which will take off and land on your palm!

Results vary. Maybe climbing it does well. I rode a downhill track and it was an absolute nightmare, crashing literally every 10 seconds.

Bought one from Ebay from a S. Korea seller for the same price without the controller. Love mine, and tempted to buy this one just to have this controller (there are 4 different ones that can work with this drone), but probably going to wait for a deal for an Avata 2 or 360 with the goggles and FPV controller. This isn't just a beginner drone - its the drone I want if I'm filming around people or need something super safe (props are enclosed) , or need something to do fast shots (launch and land from hand without needing a controller). I have it in a case strapped to my chest on my hiking/biking backpacks, and I can launch, follow film, and land and store within seconds. Been using it downhill mountain biking and it will keep up as long as you don't have it go thru thick brush and trees, where it has to slow down to navigate around. Its basically my go to flying selfie camera. Planning to go FPV (ie Avata 2/360, or other drone that works with the DJI Occusync protocl so I can share the goggles and controler with my Neo 2) for faster shots where I want to pilot.

Just shot this on Sunday on a bike ride. I have a bunch more better videos of faster riding elsewhere but need to find the links to those. It will keep up, but you have to think ahead of the obstacles it will have to avoid, and choose shooting spots with minimal obstacle avoidance. The forward looking lidar doesn't do great with leafy bushes and branches, and if it is going sideways, the optical cameras do even worse with those. If it is going slow, it will detect most everything, but if its going at full tilt, it will crash into stuff quick. https://www.instagram.com/stories...468317123/
