These are really good for running Proxmox, Trunas, unraid etc. I looked into it awhile ago but ended up getting the u green nas to get better warranty support and build quality.

But at this price it's a good option but factor in $100 or so for 8gb of ram. Also, AMD is not great if you are planning on running Plex or Jellyfin

I'm still seeing it at $273.57. Just use the code in the description to bring it down $40.
I also purchased it through PayPal app to get an extra 6% back.

Price is jumping around like crazy. I see $400+ in cart then randomly refreshed cart and now it is $203?

Picked one up for $213.

i keep wanting to buy a nas but duck taping some external drives into a cube and plugging them into an old laptop was free and its hard to compete with free, usb3 is so fast it doesnt seem like internal matters anymore.

Aliexpress increases prices on you as you checkout. You would rarely get posted price. Wish they stop posting these.

I have this exact mini PC, same barebone config and all. I have 2x - 2TB NVME drives with 4x - 2 TB SSD drives running 64 GB RAM. Perhaps the hardware is overkill for what I'm running - Unraid with Plex, Frigate, Navidrome, Immich. My peak resource usage MIGHT hit 20%, but then it stabilizes and is usually 5-10%. I tried both TrueNAS and ProxMox before Unraid, but those two gave me issues with properly recognizing all of my drives (proxmox) and TrueNAS didn't support a LAG with the 2 built-in NICs. Unraid hands down is the clear winner for me; LAG setup was all of two minutes and it recognized all my drives no problem.
I cannot comment much on transcoding, as I don't host Plex for friends outside my network, but direct play on my LAN is super snappy. As long as you aren't trying to use your built-in Smart TV OS (Don't get me started!) Also, Frigate seems happy with the integrated GPU as I never see it pass 15% utilization. It probably helps that I only have two IP cameras, a 4k and an 8k.
If the price had stayed at OP's price, it would have been a steal, as I paid about $420 directly from AOOSTAR at release about a year ago.
