If you meant there's a way to disable that and keep it completely cut off from DJI's servers (while still being able to apply updates, etc...) then I'm all ears.
After the initial activation (reasonable, Apple does the same) you can control the drone exclusively using the controller without your phone ever connecting again, you won't get any firmware upgrade for obvious reasons if you choose this path.

The only issue I had was that one of the screws for the propellers came cross threaded. Besides that, it flies really well so no complaints. I decided to keep it since I honestly don't need the camera quality of the Mini 5 Pro. It's already really good on the X1.

I find it nearly identical, very much identical. It's been said that DJI produces or directly licenses Skyrover drones. I have had mine since December with the 3-battery special package, and I've not had a single issue. I'm now looking to buy the newly released controller, so I no longer have to use my phone. DJI uses different labeling; even though the remote is similar, only the GUI is different.

My main reason for purchasing X1 was due to pricing, and knowing that DJI plays a part was a win for me.
