Ring Battery Doorbell 2K and Indoor Cam Plus is a low entry price into Ring's smart home lineup, with basic doorbell functionality available without a subscription. The doorbell has a built in battery that must be removed to recharge, which makes charging awkward, and the digital chime is called out as unpleasant. Compatibility also looks limited with many mechanical doorbells, and most features sit behind a paid plan. The bundle is attractive for the price, but the battery setup and subscription lock in the main tradeoffs.

  • The doorbell uses an internal battery that can be recharged by removing the unit.

  • The bundle price is positioned as an entry point into Ring smart home technology.

  • The doorbell's removable-battery design matches other Ring removable battery models.

  • Many core features require a subscription, which makes the deal less attractive.

  • The digital chime on this version can sound horrendous.

  • Charging the built-in battery can be painful due to the removal process.

  • The doorbell may not work with most mechanical doorbells in the house.

I have the model before this and it is a POS. And their technical support is even worse!!! However, I wish I could recommend something better but I can't.

don't use ring unless you want to supplement the surveillance state. Those "chinese" ones people fussed about a couple years back are safer.
yeah, and don't forget that extra perk that Flock is looking to implement Ring feeds into their surveillance. I believe that idea was cancelled for the moment, but I'm positive it'll be repackaged and tried again, until it goes through.

Just think, your doorbell camera can help a private organization spy on all passers-by in the community, so they can sell that to the govt.

Do we really need to remove the whole doorbell to recharge its built-in battery? If this is the case, I'd rather buy the hardwired one or keeping my old doorbell 2.

The billionaires are all pushing every bit of data into AI tracking tools with or without your permission. Musk and that DOGE scam was just to steal every bit of data the government has to feed the illegal Israeli/Palantir AI that watches us all. Peter Thiel is actually trying to destroy the world.

The doorbell has internal battery. You remove the doorbell and charge it with a wall charger.
Yes & the next two models up (ring plus and the next most expensive one) have removable batteries
