How much do you want to spend? I bought the Mikolo M7 from Temu for about $540, which I'm super happy with and offers substantially more than this rack. The M7 is discontinued now but there are other similar ones. For $300 this is a reasonable deal, but if your budget permits, you can get a lot more rack for only a little more money.

Sure, that's one way to look at it. Spending 10x the price doesn't necessarily get you substantially more than spending 1.75x, is another way. Either way, what is the point you're trying to make?

1.75x the cost isn't "only a little more money." It's almost double.

Fair enough. It's all relative, though. Racks do cost 10x as much or more, so if you're comparing a $300 rack to a $3000 rack, $240 to get most of the way there is only a little more. Anyways, I think your premise is flawed because it doesn't consider the pricing range of these things. Unfortunately, you would be wrong to assume 1.75x the price necessarily gets you substantially more. But I don't really care. Just trying to offer the person some perspective on whether $300 is a good deal.

The M7 has major upgrades compared to this unit. This unit has a high/low pulley system in the back. This means you have limited use of the pulley system to do exercises like lat pulldowns (high pulley) or bicep curls and rows on the low pulley. The pulleys are non-adjustable and have only one attachment at each location. Whereas the M7 has adjustable pulley locations and two handles for doing cable flys, face pulls, etc. The M7 also has a Smith machine. I find the Smith machine to be rather useless and limiting (and I have a degree in kinesiology/exercise science and see the Smith machine misused and causing increased joint problems too often), but the M7 does have a leg press attachment for the Smith machine, so that gives it more flexibility for use. The M7 is definitely a nicer unit with more uses if you will utilize the double pulleys or Smith machine, but the two are not directly comparable as the M7 offer way more.

I agree that it is a "little more." If you are building a home gym, an extra $240 is a "little more." That is 4-5 months of gym membership, and even if you have a $20/month membership somewhere, that is one year of gym membership. Of course, if you have to drive to the gym, you could be saving more than that $240 annually with a home gym. Arguing 1.75X is not looking at the big picture. It's arguing fr the sake of arguing.
