AA asked for volunteers to check their carry-on for free towards the end of boarding. I was group 8 of 10 and kinda worried I wouldn't get to carry mine on. Since they weren't charging for me to check it, I went ahead and volunteered. (Mine is a Delsey 22x14x9 from an earlier free-after-rewards promotion.)
